My name is Matthew Monroe. I’m a dedicated father, an avid gamer, and an aspiring developer. Born in Texas, raised in Florida, and now calling Idaho home for nearly a decade, I come from a small but spread-apart family with roots across the U.S. and abroad. My journey has been anything but predictable, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
As a self-proclaimed "late bloomer," I began my academic journey in the fall of 2024, at the start of my 30s. While unconventional, I see this late start as a tremendous advantage. With a more mature outlook, an inspired mindset, and an unwavering drive to see my family thrive, I approach my goals with a depth of purpose that only life experience can bring.
My fascination with coding began in 2019 while working at Enphase Energy. There, I was given the freedom to explore, experiment, and innovate within my role. I had access to a wide array of tools and systems that were critical to the company’s operations, including the CRM, call routing software, backend servers, databases, and command-line interfaces.
Through this freedom, I discovered just how transformative programming could be. Each new line of code was an opportunity to improve workflows and bring my ideas to life. That initial spark of curiosity ignited a passion for programming that continues to fuel my journey today.
